My Thanksgiving Reality Check

My Thanksgiving Reality Check

As turkey and stuffing gorging dies down, it’s time to share my Thanksgiving Day 2010 reality check with you, my valued friends and family. I awake to a beautiful Arizona morning, complete with wind storm and weather change, producing a level 7 migraine. Not the most glorious start to this day of giving thanks, but I soldier on, and lay in bed with ice packs on my head and silently inventoried the wonderful people in my life, past and present…

What Does Bear Breath Smell Like?

What Does Bear Breath Smell Like?

Back in the 90s, I was on a wildlife shoot at Prairie Winds Wildlife Rescue Center in Colorado. They set a bear free (I did it a few other times, one with a mountain lion, another with wolves). While all the other photographers were keeping a safe distance from the bear, I, naturally, got down to her level, and in her personal space. She trotted right over to me, kissed the camera, then stood on the camera and gave me…

Our First Car Show!

Our First Car Show!

I’m in the process of restoring a little 1980 MGB Limited Edition. Only about 2,600 made it to be sold in the U.S. between 1979 and 1980. The LE model only comes in black, with rubber bumpers. What do a bowling pin, lipstick, and a mystery novel have in common?

They all made the locals at my postal service ask me:“What is it that you DO anyway?” I am always amazed at the creativity of people. One reader sent me his favorite Rod Stewart CD, another a Mystery Novel that I could NOT put down, and yet another sent me a collection of makeup perfect for my skin tone! The list of the great gifts I received from you all is too long to mention here. I just want to say…

Send me a secret package!

Send me a secret package!

Vickie of www.Cranialaerobics.com sent me a great idea for having some fun with the rumor mill here in little Anthem, AZ.She recommends that I have people mail me something in a brown paper wrapper with CONFIDENTIAL / TOP SECURITY CLEARANCE ONLY stamped all over it in an official manner. I use a local mail box service where they sort the mail by hand and a lot of locals use that service too, so word will get out as I start…
