Sweet Overwhelm

Playing his songs, sharing joy through music,

Unprepared for the warmth of her smile;

He knew she would be the voice that would guide him,

and he found himself sweet overwhelmed.

 

They built a good life with children and laughter

Partners in love and in tears;

He held their first child and love left him speechless

And he found himself sweet overwhelmed.

Through the good and the bad, they never gave up,

growing stronger with each passing day

And when the docs shared the heart wrenching news

that she would leave him someday…
